Ravage Machinery: The dystopian tide
28/10/11 || revenant
Now here’s an interesting Finnish band worth spending a few moments learning about: Ravage Machinery. “The Dystopian Tide”, the band’s third EP/demo release, is an absolute crushing death metal release. Their sound is probably best described as having Swedish death’s grinding rhythms (there are a few moments that give off some real Edge of Sanity vibe) combined with Benediction’s crushing groove, topped off with some great meaty growls. Certainly in parts this release is a monster (the groovy sections of “Collapse to Retaliate” are just fucken killer), but at times the tracks feel over-long and the blast beats a bit out of place and unnecessary. These guys show a heap of potential though, and if they refine their songwriting a little we may all be in for a major fucken treat treat in the years ahead.
7/10 Definitely a band we could all be soiling our socks over in the future.
After going thru that crap, you most likely wanna read something way more interesting. You do, admit it.
